Video Editing and DVD Mastering for Missoula, Montana Affordable Housing
- We recently wrapped a longer-term project for the city of Missoula, Montana. Like many cities in the west, Missoula has a problem providing affordable housing within the city limits. We edited the 18-minute video that the city will use as a discussion-starter in showings around town.
- The project involved viewing, logging and editing 15 hours of footage and creating graphics and animations for titles and illustrations.
Re-Mastering and Packaging Award-Winning Documentaries
- Documentary-producer Mike Grundmann makes videos on the topic of facial difference among other topics. His touching, thought-provoking work has won major awards worldwide in film competitions, including Best Documentary in Corvallis's daVinci Film Festival.
- Harte Media worked with Mike's videotape masters to completely re-master the video, add interactive menu structures and design packaging for the DVDs and disc faces. With new digital tools, we were able to clean up the picture and the sound, eliminating technical imperfections. We also added English subtitles for hearing-impaired viewers.
- You can visit Mike Grundmann's website here. His videos are distributed by Films for the Humanities.
DVD Authoring for Oregon OSHA
- Oregon OSHA contracted Harte Media to re-author an existing DVD on safety. We created a new menu and added support files: PowerPoint, Word and PDF files for forms and additional information. Actually a hybrid DVD-ROM, this format can be very useful for carrying a video message along with support information.
Making the Neighborhood Better with Corvallis Neighborhood Housing Services
- Affordable housing is becoming harder to find in Corvallis, one of the most expensive places to live in the state of Oregon. While the cost of living has increased, many salaries have not, making the dream of home ownership less attainable for many.
- We are just now completing a video which will be used by CNHS as part of their public outreach and fundraising activities. Scheduled to debut this fall, the video will include interviews with many local business people, government officials and clients of CNHS.
Assistive Technology Video will help Seniors Live at Home Longer
- Many older people are looking for ways to prolong residence in their own home. The Department of Design and Human Environment at Oregon State University is helping to develop new technologies to do just that. Among them are a communication device, medication dispenser and a fall alert that calls for medical assistance.
- Harte Media is developing video models of the technology as it might be used in the home. These models will be shown to elicit user responses to the technolgy before designs are complete.
Community Outreach Project Wraps Up
- Now that the final edit has been refined, the Community Outreach, Inc. DVD is ready for the world. The length is about 7 minutes which is just right for an orientation DVD. They are planning to use the DVD for public information, fundraising and inspiring volunteers.
- Community Outreach is one of the largest, if not the largest, nonprofit organization of its kind in Oregon. We are pleased to be a part of their success.
